Working within a range of contexts, both historical and cultural, Fitzgerald creates socially-engaged, site-specific projects which explore human relationships and a particular engagement with the world they inhabit.

  The interest she has in any chosen subject, is often underpinned by her own frustrations with conventional contructions of 'knowledge'; what is 'valid', prioritised and communicated.

  Consequently, her practice has a strong research base, multi-disciplinary in nature. The installation work she produces combines objects, text, photography and video.
